CASology #33

Welcome to Week 33 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

I was so glad to see how many of you braved the Flame challenge last week.  There were so many fantastic takes on the cue word that it was really hard to narrow down winners.  You guys rock!  This week's cue word leaves a lot more room for interpretation.  I pulled out my circle punches and hole punches and created some funky flowers.  The little dots under the sentiment are hole punched too.  I love to add Glossy Accents to them and use them in lieu of gems - it gives you a perfect colour match every time!  Your turn now.  Head over to the CASology blog and check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team and then start creating!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that submissions are due by 4pm CST Sunday, 3 March.

Old Paper

My fabulous bloggie buddy Jessi is on the design team for Shopping Our Stash and this week's challenge is to use your oldest patterned paper.  This paper is from a K & Co 12x12 paper pad that I picked up back in 2008.  It's got a couple of little pieces snipped from it here and there but for the most part it's pretty intact!  I thought it would be perfect for the challenge and for the thank you card I needed to make.  I cut the paper with a Nestability, inked the edges with Dried Marigold Distress Ink, added the die cut and sentiment and called it a day for a clean and crisp design.  I've never played along with Shopping Our Stash before but I'm guessing it could be pretty useful for nudging me along to use up all those hoarded bits and pieces.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend!  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (Que Sera Sera collection) K & Co

From Head to Soul

I really cannot believe that it's Friday again already.  The days just seem to be on fast forward right now.  I feel like any minute it's going to be Christmas again!  Aaarrrghh!!

Today I'm joining in with Unity's Friends With Flair blog hop.  I used a sentiment from the March 2012 Kit of the Month - From Head to Soul.  This card was a special order I had recently.  A young man who's been going through some rough times wanted a card for his girlfriend to thank her for standing by him and supporting him through everything.  He really has a beautiful soul and I hope that things get better for him and they can get on with their lives.

And I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The Sweetest Friend

**This is my second post today.  For my CAS(E) This Sketch post please scroll down or click here.**

Hello again!  I recently came across the new Pinspired challenge and wanted to play along. This week is sponsored by Sweet Stamp Shop so I pulled out some of their stamps to make my card.  Such a yummy picture they chose!  I was inspired by the pinks, the apothecary jars and the stripes in the background.  This challenge is pretty cool because I hardly ever have time to browse through Pinterest to find inspiration so this way the inspiration is brought to me.  Fabulous!

Patterned Paper:  (Dots & Stripes: Metropolitan) Echo Park

CAS(E) This Sketch #16

Welcome to Week 16 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch designed by Karolyn Loncon:

Today's sketch seemed to me like a great opportunity to use some patterned paper.  I was just saying to Lynn the other day that I needed to remember to stamp on patterned paper more often.  Perfect timing!  :) The papers are from the Authentique Freebird:  Endless & Fair-Weather collection and the stamps are from Vintage Clocks by The Craft's Meow.  Time to share your creations!  I can't wait to see what gorgeousness you bring our way this week!  Be sure and check out all the stunners on the CAS(E) This Sketch blog by the rest of the DT before you get started.

Sad Birdie

**This is my second post for today.  For my CAS-ual Fridays post please scroll down or click here.***

Hello there!  I'm back again with some more black and blue goodness for you.  This time I'm playing along with Dynamic Duos where we are to use Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise.  There is a dessert option to use clouds but I'm trying to cut back on desserts these days so I skipped them, tempting as they were!  :)  This is one of the first Papertrey Ink sets I ever got and I still love that little bird although I always thought he looked a bit sad.  Perfect for a Miss You card!

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Got The Blues?

I have a slight case of the blues today as my two days of crafty heaven are over and I'm off to work this afternoon. However, I had a very productive two days so at least I'm not feeling anxious about wasting those crafty hours!  This card is for the CAS-ual Fridays Black & white Plus 1 challenge.  I used Pacific Point as my Plus 1 and went for a punny sentiment because I never use those...  :)  Hope you all have a lovely day and I'll be back later with some more black and blue!

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pacific Point, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASE Hello

***This is my second post for today.  For my CASology post please scroll down or

It's been ages since I played along with CASE Study but I loved the blues and yellows of the current card by this month's muse, Teri Anderson.  They made me think of my one and only Pebbles 6x6 pad which has the perfect colors.  I stuck pretty close to Teri's design including the addition of gems and twine.  You can't really tell from the picture but the centre square and the outside corner squares are popped up on foam tape for a little dimension.  Hope you've had a lovely day!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Basic Grey) Stampin' Up

CASology #32

Welcome to Week 32 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

Okay, gang.  Last week's cue word allowed for pretty much anything.  This week's word narrows the scope a bit.  Don't be intimidated though.  Well, you can be intimidated (I sure was!) but don't let it scare you away.  Put those thinking caps on, flip through your stash and I know you will wow us with your creations!

Smile Smile Smile

*** This is my second post for the day.  For my Colour Throwdown post please scroll down or click here.***

I really have got to work on my post scheduling as lately I've had a bunch of posts early in the week and then none later on.  Gotta get my challenges more organised...

This card is for three challenges.  I used the colours from ColourQ, the sketch from RetroSketches and the camera theme from the Moxie Fab Camera Craze challenge.  That Calypso Coral was a tricky one for me to work in here so it got relegated to mat status.  :)  I always have to remind myself that I don't have to use the same amount of each colour on my card.  Gotta remember the Gallon/Quart/Pint rule.  I didn't use it here but it's a good one to keep in the back of my mind.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Camera & sentiment from Make A Memory) Market Street Stamps
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Punches:  (Corner rounder) Marvy Uchida, (5/16" & 1/8" hole punch) McGill
Other:  (Glossy Accents) Ranger

Thinking of Branches

Last Minute Lucy strikes again!  Scooting in with about 10 minutes to spare for this week's Colour Throwdown challenge.  I broke out some new (to me) Memory Box dies and paired them with an old Woodware flower punch.  Sticking down all those tiny leaves was rather tedious but I like the end result - simple and pretty!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Stamp:  (Sentiment from Simple Salutations) Market Street Stamps
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

A Little Notion

**This is my second post for the day.  For my A Passion For Papertrey post please scroll down or click here.**

Hello again!  I'm back from a lovely afternoon in the Craft Cave. I got some special orders completed and also played along with the current Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World.  Initially I was a bit intimidated by all that ribbon and lace but after reminding myself that I didn't actually have to use ribbon and lace I was able to get down to work.  I took my inspiration from the colors, the lace, the rickrack and the buttons.  It took a bit of fiddling around with the elements until they "felt" right but I like the final result.  Have a lovely night and here's to a good week ahead!

You Float My Boat

Hello!  Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.  It's blustery, rainy and cold here today which is fine with me because it's blown away the humidity.  Yesterday we had to turn on the air conditioning in order to get the floor to dry after we mopped!  Crazy.  Today is much more wintery feeling though - and much drier!  Luis is happily ensconced on the sofa watching Netflix, Atti is chillin' after a ball game (in between rain showers!) and I'm about to head to the Craft Cave.  First though I wanted to post this card for the current A Passion for Papertrey challenge where the theme is love.  How cute is that little sailboat?  I also want to point out my fabulous new watermark courtesy of the lovely Lisa Arana!  She has a great selection on her blog so if you're in the market for a watermark check her out!

You Old Bag!

My mom and I have a little tradition where we always give each other 2 cards on our birthdays - a nice card and a rude card.  This is the rude card that I gave mom this year.  :)

It totally cracked her up.  In fact, I think she liked it better than the nice card!  LOL!  I want to add it to Unity's Friends With Flair blog hop.  If you've never hopped along with it you should - there's always a ton of inspiration!

I also wanted to share these pictures of Atticus being thoroughly spoiled by his daddy!

That would be Haagen Dazs Dulce du Leche that he's slurping up and that container was spotless when he was done with it!

Welcome to Week 15 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch designed by Lisa Arana:

I love a punny sentiment and I've had this corny idea in my head for ages.  This week's sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to get it on paper!  Tee hee!  I also made a version with a smaller spoon.  Which do you like best?

Can't wait to see how this sweet sketch inspires you all.  Check out all the stunning creations at the CAS(E) This Sketch blog and then get to work!

CASology #31

Welcome to Week 31 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

While my thoughts initially went straight to Valentine's cards I have to confess to being a bit tired of them at this point!  So I started flipping through my stamps and pondering other things that are red and came to Dogs Vol. 1 by Skipping Stones Design.  Perfect!  I framed the image with some fun Nestabilities dies and then added the red paw print to help tie the sentiment and image together.  Crisp and clean and sure to be a bestseller at work.  :)
