CASology #191

Welcome to Week 191 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I found this super fun washi tape at a Paper Source in Boston a couple of years ago.  I love the bright colours and different patterns all mashed up!  I laid out 5 strips of it onto a piece of cardstock then cut it with a Lil' Inkers Stitched Rectangle die to make this bright and happy panel.  The Paper Smooches flower was die cut three times, stacked and then coated with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is Altenew.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and then play along with us!

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

Skipping Stones March Stamp & Share Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Skipping Stones March Stamp and Share Challenge!  This month we have a lovely spring colour challenge for you.  Skipping Stones Design stamps are NOT required to play along but if you have some we'd love to see them!

For my card today I used stamps from the Heartsong 2 set.  Both this and Heartsong have gorgeous bird images - I love how they're decorated with music notes.  I stamped and paper pieced the leaves flat onto the card stock and then popped the bird up on foam tape.  The wonky stitching on the circle adds a bit of whimsy and the sentiment tucked in perfectly to the space above the bird.

I hope you'll find some time to play along with us especially as one lucky person will win a Skipping Stones Design stamp set of their choice!  Be sure to check out the rest of the gorgeous inspiration from the design team and then get crafting!

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  (All from Heartsong 2) Skipping Stones Design
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Rainbow Thank You

Hello hello!  I've got another card to share for the Curtain Call rainbow challenge.  I used a bar code image from Paper Smooches' Retail Therapy to create the rainbow.  It took about 3 tries to get a straight line even using the MISTI - clearly I haven't mastered that tool yet...  The thank you and flower die cuts are also Paper Smoochs with a heavy dose of Glossy Accents added to them - love the shine!

That's it for now.  Have a happy hump day!  :D

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASology #190

Welcome to Week 190 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I very often go straight for a sun die when a weather related challenge comes up but today I've gone for some clouds and an umbrella from Reverse Confetti paper pieced with Studio Calico.  I used some Paper Smooches paint strokes to create a breezy sky and of course had to use Stormy Sky Distress Ink for the colour.  :)

Check out all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and then play along with us!

Rainbow Stars

Hi there!  I'm popping in to share another card I made yesterday with two challenges in mind - CAS(E) This Sketch and Curtain Call's rainbow challenge.  Both the Reverse Confetti die and the My Favourite Things sentiment are NBUS (whoop whoop!) and I think rainbows and celebrations go pretty well together.  The panel is popped up on foam tape, the garlands are covered in clear Wink of Stella and there's lots of bling scattered around.  That's it for now.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Green Sympathy

Hi there!  Yesterday was such a gorgeous day here that I couldn't bring myself to spend time in the Craft Cave.  Instead I went to Pilates, Luis and I ran errands and then we chilled out on the patio with Tex before going for a walk to the beach and finishing off the day with a bbq.

Today Luis went out with the boys for a bit so I did some DT work in the Craft Cave and was also able to make a couple of other cards including this one for the current ColourQ challenge.  I used Paper Smooches' Positive Strokes 2 for the green and die cut some WPlus9 leaves from vellum.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink - one of my favourite sympathy sentiments.  That's it for now.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Gifts, Gators and Kites

Hi there!  I've barely been in the Craft Cave at all in the last week but I found a little bit of time to sneak in there today.  I made 3 cards for 5 challenges.

First up I combined the Addicted to CAS Gift challenge with the CAS on Sunday sketch challenge and came up with this little number.  The patterned papers are from an old Crate Paper collection.  The gifts and sentiment are Reverse Confetti and the Wonky Stitched Circle die is from My Favourite Things.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Lillian collection) Crate Paper
Stamps:  (Gifts & sentiment from Monkey Business) Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Circles Die-namics) My Favourite Things
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for the Stampin' Celebration inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the blues and greens, the flags in the top right picture and the kraft background in the bottom right picture.  I used my favourite Reverse Confetti alligator and some RC banners along with Newton's Nook sentiments.  I'm also going to enter it in the  Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Alligator from Later Gator, Hat from Monkey Business) Reverse Confetti, (Sentiment from Shark Bites) Newton's Nook
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Banners) Reverse Confetti
Marker:  (Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up

Finally a simple card for the Paper Players colour challenge.  The polaroid frame has been in my scrap pile for a while so I was glad to use it.  The Taylored Expressions kite die is NBUS, the cloud is Lil' Inkers and the sentiment is Altenew.  It's perfect for this time of year as Good Friday is kite flying day in Bermuda!  A long weekend with kites, hot cross buns and codfish cakes.  Yummy yummy!  Fingers crossed for sunshine and a good breeze.

That's all for today.  Have a lovely evening!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay) Stamping' Up

CASology #189

Welcome to Week 189 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Recently the lovely and talented Anita from My Papercraft World sent me an envelope full of Papertrey Ink's Doodlie-Do images and sentiments - a set stamped in Memento ink and an embossed set!  I was thrilled to bits to receive them especially as I knew this cue word was coming up.  :)  I coloured the flower and leaves with Copics and then paired them with a balloon string sentiment from Mama Elephant which I thought made a perfect stem.  I was going to leave it at that but then decided the image needed to be grounded so I added some  washi tape in a graph pattern to help balance out all the rounded shapes above it.

Now over to you - check out the gorgeous inspiration from the design team and then get crafting!

Skipping Stones Tip/Technique Hop

Hi there!  Welcome to the monthly Skipping Stones Design Team Tip/Technique Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Coralynn's blog.

I broke out the watercolors again for this card but instead of going for my usual smooshing technique I tried to do more of a wash.  I masked and stamped the butterfly from Healing Wings onto Ranger watercolor cardstock.  Then I painted over them in rainbow colours.  Once they were dry I fussy cut them and mounted them onto a black card base.  The sentiment (also from Healing Wings) was stamped onto white cardstock then trimmed and popped up on foam tape.  I felt like it needed a little something else so I used black gems to create each of the butterfly bodies.

Okay, time to get hopping.  Your next stop is Ilina's blog.  Be sure to leave comments along the way to be entered in the giveaway.  Also check out all the fabulous stamp sets in the

CASology #188

Welcome to Week 188 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with for this week's cue word - it's pretty broad and I know there are a lot of hilarious crafters out there.  :D

After breaking out this Taylored Expressions set over the weekend (see here) I went back to it for this cue word because the grumpy faces on these critters and their cheeky sentiments totally crack me up!  I paper pieced the bear with some older Basic Grey papers and popped him up on some happy polka dots although he's still not in a party mood.  Tee hee!

Be sure and check out the cards from the rest of the design team - lots of laughs to be had from these fabulous ladies!
