CASology #264

Welcome to Week 264 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Do kids play hopscotch anymore or am I really dating myself by confessing that we played it a lot when we were younger?  I remember drawing out the squares in chalk on the pavement and then finding the perfect pebble to throw - just enough weight and flat enough so it wouldn't roll too much.  We never coloured our hopscotch squares but this Reverse Confetti one just called out for some rainbow colours!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #263

Welcome to Week 263 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm about a year late to the party with these Neat & Tangled flower stamps but better late than never I say!  I love them.  They're simple and sweet and I think they're perfect for the cue word.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Background Poinsettias

Hello and happy Saturday!
I'm working this weekend but have some cards to share that I've been working on over the week.  I've actually started to buckle down and get going on some Christmas cards which I'm very proud of.  Usually I go into panic mode around the end of October and never make as many as I want but this year will be different!
This card is for the Flower Challenge - Focus on background stamping.  The flowers and leaves are from Essentials by Ellen stamped with Altenew inks. The sentiment - both stamp and die - are from Winnie & Walter.  I added some Liquid Pearls to the centre of the flowers and scattered some gems around the sentiment.  I actually made 4 of these in the end.  Once I'd decided on the flower placements they moved along pretty quickly and they're also pretty flat for mailing.  Yaaassssss to that!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers & leaves from Mistletoe & Holly) Essentials by Ellen, (Merry from The Big, the Bold & the Merry) Winnie & Walter

Flower on Stencil

Hi there!
I have a simple card for two challenges tonight.  I used the colours from CAS Colours & Sketches and and the Stencil prompt from Just Add Ink.  If you look closely behind the flower you can see part of an Altenew stencil done with white embossing paste.  It adds a bit of texture and dimension behind the Lil' Inker Designs flower.  The Thanks is Mama Elephant and I had a bit of fun with some black Nuvo drops.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Flower) Lil' Inker Deisgns, (Thanks) Mama Elephant
Embossing Paste:  Dreamweavers Stencils
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Clack Crystal Drops) Tonic

CASology #26

Welcome to Week 262 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've been a bit grumbly about having to go back to work after two weeks off so I should probably have a stack of these on standby to hand out.  It really is the perfect sentiment.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Adventure Awaits

Hi there!
Time Out has a photo inspiration challenge at the moment.  The map and trunk made me think of traveling so I made a couple of goodbye/safe travels/new adventure cards.  I love these Lawn Fawn hot air balloons and the Reverse Confetti sentiment is the perfect companion to them.  I dug out some fun patterned papers for some adventurous skies.

Inlaid Flowers & Butterflies

Hello there!
Another weekend has flown by and while I didn't accomplish a single thing on my To Do list I did manage to make a few cards.  :)
This first one is inspired by Anita's gorgeous card at Muse.  I took pretty direct inspiration from her card - just changed up the shapes and sentiment.  I actually made a few versions of it in order to use up all the bits and pieces.  The first one is my favourite though.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Watercolor) Ranger, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Flower) Essentials by Ellen, (Pierced circle) Lil' Inker Designs, (Thanks, Congrats) Mama Elephant
Markers:  (Pink, Orange, Yellow, Emerald Green, Turquoise Green, Cobalt Blue, Violet) Zig
Glitter:  (clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Other:  (Nuvo Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic

I also made a couple of cards using the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches and the colours from Just Add Ink.  More inlaid dies here but this time a PTI butterfly and a couple of different Altenew sentiments.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Birthday sent from Birthday Greetings, Hugs sent from Heartfelt Sentiments) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMArk) Tsukeniko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Butterfly) Papertrey Ink, (Circle) Spellbinders
Gems:  Recollections

CASology #261

Welcome to Week 261 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

While sorting through the scrap pile on my desk I came across some cardstock panels I'd made using Brushos and thought they would be perfect to use with these Altenew stamps.  I love how there's a hint of texture and movement in the colours - it really makes the images pop even more.  I couldn't stop at one so I made a second card using the giraffe image.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Cats & Sweaters

Well, I survived my first day back at work and already my time off seems like a distant memory...  It was good to see the cats again though and I'm pleased that they didn't forget me.  In fact I think they missed me judging by the presents they delivered to me...

Anyway I have two cards to share today.  First is for the Just Add Ink Just Choose Two challenge.  I chose Pets and Patterned Paper and used this NBUS cat die from Frantic Stamper.  She's such a sassy sight isn't she?  And can I get a big Yaaaaaasssss! for accidentally lining up the polka dot in her eye?  Love when that stuff happens!  I liked this card so much I also made it in other colours.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Rose Red, Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Farm Girl 8x8) October Afternoon
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Cool Cat) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Art Deco Cat) Frantic Stamper, (Balloon) Lil' Inker Designs, (Stitched Rectangle) Mama Elephant, (In the Meadow) Papertrey Ink
Twine:  The Twinery
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for the Addicted to Stamps and More Holiday challenge.  I stamped this Essentials by Ellen sweater onto some old Fancy Pants paper, trimmed them out and popped them up on squares cut from the same paper pack.  Aside from the fussy cutting, a pretty simple card and I love the sentiment!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Happy Holidays 8x8) Fancy Pants
Stamps:  (Sweater & sentiment from Tis the Season) Essentials by Ellen
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Stitched square) Lil' Inker Designs

Flowers, Bowls & Leaves

Hey there!
I'm popping in this evening with a few CAS cards.  I've had some wonderful crafty time this past week and am gutted to have to head back to work and real life tomorrow.  Oh to be independently wealthy!
Anyway the first card is for Freshly Made Sketches.  It was super quick to put together - nothing but washi tape, a few die cuts and some gems.  I'd forgotten about that Avery Elle Thank You and was happy to stumble across it in my stash.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Flowers) My Favourite Things, (Sentiment) Avery Elle
Punch:  (5/16" hole punch) McGill
Tape:  Stampin' Up
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is for the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge - a colour palette this week.  I struggled a bit with these colors but finally inked up these cute My Favourite Things bowls, die cut them and popped the front ones up on foam tape.  It's hard to see but I went over the dots on the blue bowl with Nuvo drops - it adds a fun bit of texture.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Bowls from Kitschy Kitchen, Sentiment from You Bake Me Happy) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (Blushing Bride, Cajun Craze, Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Kitschy Kitchen) My Favourite Things
Other:  (Nuvo White Crystal Drops) Tonic
Gems:  Recollections

Finally is a another really simple card using the colours from The Colour Throwdown and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.  Again mostly die cuts and I used Nuvo drops to add the little dots to the vase.

That's it for now.  I'm off to soak up my last few hours of freedom!  Have a good night!
